High-performance connection technology is a basic requirement in the industrial networking of devices, machines and production systems. Sensor Actor Line circular connectors are used in many applications in the field of automation technology.

In addition to the transmission of analog and digital signals and high-bandwidth data transmission, they are also used as supply connectors. CONEC offers circular connectors in sizes M8, M12, 7/8″ and Round24. CONEC’s portfolio includes overmolded circular connectors, field attachable circular connectors and socket connectors. In the BUS connector range, a wide variety of transmission protocols are available, such as Industrial Ethernet, EtherCAT P, CAN-Bus/Devicenet or Profibus DB – with a signal transmission rate of up to 10 Gbit. The K, L, S and T codings are offered as pure power connectors.

With the M12 connector series with bayonet quick-locking mechanism, CONEC offers a solution for tool-free assembly even in applications that are difficult to access.

Why are special requirements placed on connectors for agricultural vehicles, construction machinery and similar commercial vehicles?
  • The connection of electrical and electronic components in vehicle construction in agricultural, construction and municipal technology requires safe electrical connectors, as the components have to withstand high mechanical loads and harsh environmental and weather conditions.

CONEC Series M8x1 D-Coded “Fast Ethernet”

With M8x1 D coding, Industrial Ethernet transmission is implemented using a 4-pole M8x1 connector in conjunction with a 360° shielding and a standard Ethernet cable. Together with the contacts changed to 0.8 mm diameter, the connector enables a transmission rate of up to 100 Mbit/s (Fast Ethernet).

CONEC Series M8x1 P-Coded “EtherCAT P”

EtherCAT communication, which has been known up to now and is based on Ethernet transmission technology, is characterised in particular by its fast transmission speed (real-time Ethernet). This is necessary for many applications, e.g. synchronisation in the field of automation technology. The wiring technology is implemented with a 4-pole shielded M8x1 connector and a standard Ethernet cable, the power supply by a separate cable. EtherCAT P is the further development of the globally established and standardised EtherCAT technology. The special feature of EtherCAT-P is the combination of superfast EtherCAT communication with the 24 V power supply. Data and power (Us) for system and sensor supply with 24 V and 3 A are provided on a two-wire data pair.
The second data pair provides data and the peripheral voltage (Up) for the supply of the actuators. This direct coupling of the supply voltage to the 100 MBit line for EtherCAT-P enables a compact and cost-effective device interface.
Since the supply lines are no longer required, this is referred to as a “single-cable solution”.

CONEC Series M12 with Bayonet Quick Locking 

The CONEC connector series with bayonet quick locking system allows safe and quick locking even in areas that are difficult to reach and/or not visible. With the “three-point” bayonet locking it is possible to lock the connection by hand with a 90 ° turn. You get direct tactile and acoustic feedback as soon as the connector is locked.

The connectors are designed according to the draft standard IEC CD 61076-2-011/Ed1. When locked, the requirements of protection degrees IP65, IP67 and IP69K are met. In addition, the new series is shock and vibration resistant according to the railway requirements IEC 61373:2010, class 1B. The CONEC bayonet locking variant thus offers simplified handling and at the same time secure transmission of signals and data to the user.

CONEC Series M12x1 X-Coding &

In view of the increasing amounts of data in industrial plants, designers and planners are faced with the question of how to transfer accumulating data quickly and reliably while saving installation space at the same time. Typical areas of application requiring constantly higher data transmission rates are, for example, vision and scanner systems for production monitoring and real-time data evaluation. Entertainment systems in trains, which provide passengers with a reliable internet connection at their seats, and surveillance cameras also place high demands on data transmission and the robustness of the connectors. With the M12x1 x-coded product series, CONEC offers a portfolio of CAT 6A-capable connectors.  The connector series includes socket connector versions incl. SMT and THR variants, a field attachable connector with crimp termination as well as overmoulded axial and angled connectors. Therefore it is possible to completely map the transmission path of a device installed in the field and the associated processing unit using CONEC connectors.

CONEC Series M12x1 L-Coding

CONEC offers a comprehensive portfolio of L-coded connectors to fully map the transmission path from a device installed in the field to the associated processing unit, and to transmit power as well as signals and data.
In addition to the L-coded THR variants already presented, the range includes various socket connectors with wire for device mounting. For maximum flexibility on the connection side, field-attachable connectors axial are offered. Overmolded connectors axial and angled complete the portfolio. The overmoulded M12 L-coded connectors require 30% less installation space compared to a 7/8″ connector. Due to the high current carrying capacity of 16 A with a strand cross-section of 2.5 mm², they are also able to ensure the power supply of devices via a miniaturised interface.
